Compression Fitting, Straight Union, 316 SS, 1/4" OD

Compression fittings connect rigid tubing easily and withstand higher pressures than barbed fittings. Installation can be performed without special tools; however, PTFE® PFA fittings require a grooving tool to groove tubing or a high-pressure nut assembly for high-pressure applications—see page 286.

White polypropylene (PP). Very good chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 220 psi. Temp range: 32 to 212°F (0 to 100°C). Include plastic grippers.
Black polypropylene (PP). Very good chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 300 psi. Temp range: 0 to 212°F (–17 to 100°C). Include stainless steel gripping rings.
KYNAR®. Excellent chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 220 psi. Temp range: –20 to 275°F (–29 to 135°C). Include plastic grippers.
CHEMFLUOR® PFA. Superior chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 135 psi. Temp range: 32 to 248°F (0 to 120°C). Include PFA ferrules and TEFZEL® nuts. Made from electronic-grade resin.
PTFE PFA. Superior chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 150 psi (40 psi without grooving tool). Temp range: up to 347°F (175°C). Include built-in ferrules.
Chemfluor® PTFE. Superior chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 105 psi. Temp range: –450 to 347°F (–268 to 175°C). Include Kel-F® nuts and Elast-O-Fluor® seals.
Brass. Good chemical resistance; withstand pressures to 400 psi. Temp range: –85 to 482°F (–65 to 250°C). Include brass ferrules; are UL-listed for use with flammable liquids; and meet ASA, ASME, and SAE (J512) standards.
316 SS. Very good chemical resistance. Temp range: –425 to 1200°F (–253 to 648°C). Ideal for chromatography applications—pressure limit depends on the tubing used, not the fitting. Include ferrules.
Note: Pressure ratings are for smaller tubing ODs at 77°F (25°C). Ratings decrease with increases in tubing OD or temperature.
